Women’s General Meeting

May

2017

This year for the Women’s General Meeting I decided to take Olivia downtown to the conference center. We went to dinner first at Mimi’s and then went down to be with our sisters and listen to the words of our dear leaders. It was really neat, and I think a new tradition has been born!

It was a cold, rainy evening.

Photos of the Past Few Months

There’s been so much chaos these past several months. A few bigger things will receive their own posts. But these are pictures of more day-to-day life these past few months.

Let’s recap:

We got a pass to the aquarium. It gives us something to do when we have nothing else to do. HA!

We got season tickets to Hale Center Theater. We went and saw “The Nerd,” “7 Brides for 7 Brothers” (This is a picture of us at dinner before 7 Brides), and “To Kill a Mockingbird.” We look forward to a whole year of wonderful plays!

We got bunnies – Snowball (Andrew’s) and Whitey (Everett’s) – they have been fun additions to our chaos!

Untitled

We went to Reimann’s house in Brigham City for a BBQ one evening. (Roo and Nate playing in the backyard).

We tried (and failed) potty training before summer came.

Everett’s Baptism Preview

This year Everett will be baptized.

In the old neighborhood every child had their own baptism (part of having very few children and two fonts in the stake). Here we have stake baptisms where all the children are baptized once a month.

As part of that they have the baptism preview where they tell the children (and parents) what to expect from the day.

It was fun to take Everett over to the church and get to spend time anticipating this very special event that will take place this year!

New Beginnings

May

With the new year came New Beginnings. But the mind boggling thing was that this year Olivia was invited to it!

I cannot tell you how shocking it is to me that my Sunshine is turning 12 this year! Where has the time gone?

For New Beginnings Olivia was introduced to the Young Women by a mia-maid – Sienna Evans. It was really fun to see her standing up there with all the Young Women, being introduced and learning about her upcoming years in the Young Women’s program.

Our new puppy, Maverick

One spring-ish day at the end of January Wyatt had a brilliant idea that our family needed a puppy. Actually, he started cruising the KSL adds for one almost the day we moved in. I was apprehensive of a puppy, but finally relented. That is how Maverick came to be the newest member of the Christensen household.

Puppy training hasn’t been the easiest, and we’ve had lots to learn in order to teach him. But he sure is a cutie.

Calvin on the couch watching General Conference.

Here are some great things that have come from Calvin in the past week:

The other night we were cleaning up the house before bed. All the other kids had gone upstairs to get ready, while Calvin finished sweeping the kitchen floor and I finished loading the dishwasher.

Calvin said to me: “Mom, I just don’t have the words to tell you how much I appreciate everything you do for me.”

Swoon.

Wyatt took Calvin skiing the other day. Cal is by far our best skier and can  keep up with Wyatt on what ever hill they take. Cal asked Wyatt:

“Do they let kids into the Olympics?”

Wyatt proceeded to tell Cal about the Jr. Olympics and being old enough for the Olympics, and the ski teams training in Utah, etc. etc. – all the time you have to imagine the wheels turning in Cal’s head.

Cal then told Wyatt: “I’m going to grow up and win the Olympics . . . because then it will help me become President.”

Last night Cal asked me to run to the store for him.

“Why?” I asked.

With a total straight face Cal told me – “I’m running low on million dollar bills.”

Hahaha! So am I buddy!

This morning as he helped me unload groceries right before the start of General Conference he said:

“General Conference is my favorite weekend – we just sit around and listen to the prophets, and we eat good food, and no tight clothes – you know, we just stay in our jammies.

—I’m so glad he’s catching on! ;)
