On Wednesday we took Olivia to the MTC. Oh heart.
The morning started slow – even though that silly goose wasn’t even packed! She went to breakfast with her BFF, Natalie Lawson, and spent a long time in car saying goodbye to her. Finally she came in and packed — and packed — and packed. We were going to go to lunch as a family, but to ease the pressure of getting everything done on time we decided to get lunch and bring it home. We got some Panda Express (homage to the Chinese food she will be eating for the next 18 months), and came home to eat together.
We finished up the last things and packed up in the car (Aunt Leslee loaned us her Ford Excursion so we could all fit!) and headed South. We went to the BYU Creamery first for some ice cream and goodbyes. After hugs and loves in the parking lot of the creamery we drove up to the MTC to drop off the cute girl. She got her bags out, gave Wyatt and I one last hug goodbye and then walked away across the parking garage with a missionary escort, off to start her service to the Lord.
We will all miss her so much. Even the boys were sullen and sad in the day. We will miss her daily light in our lives, but we are grateful for the good things she will be doing, and her chance to grow. Oh, I love that girl.
