Olivia received her mission call this week!
I am so happy and excited for her.
Of course we had to have multiple celebrations and openings.
She received the call on Tuesday afternoon. The day before was Labor Day, so calls didn’t go out as early as they usually do. Olivia checked her email through out the day. She started getting nervous.
“I have the inside track!” I told her. I called Kirsten Smith, who works at the missionary department downtown.
“The server is set to send them out at 3 pm today” she told me. “If you don’t have your call by 4, call me back.”
But it did come.
Olivia wanted to open the call herself first, to have that special moment to process everything that was happening and feel the love of her Heavenly Father. When she got the call she excused herself and went up to the Draper Temple to open and read it.
She came home about an hour later and read it to just our family.
Olivia is assigned to serve in the Newport Beach, California Mission, Mandarin speaking. She reports for home MTC on January 13th!
Later that evening she wanted to go down to Provo and read it to all the new friends she had made in just her few days down there. She invited anyone who wanted to, to come along. Wyatt and I plus Roo and Nate went down.
On Saturday night Wyatt invited his mom and dad over so Olivia could read the call to them. They were so happy and excited. Both of them cried with joy.
Then today (Sunday) she invited all of her friends that were around, plus neighbors and ward members and family and other friends to all come over for her official “Mission call opening.”
Everyone is so happy and excited for her. We love our cute Olivia so much.
FOR YAY!
