November –
Like hitting my head against the wall. That’s how awesome it was.
Seriously. Awesome.
But I haven’t had time/desire/will power to edit the pictures – yet. So a wordy recap about it will have to do.
FIRST THINGS FIRST –
Baby Sunshine’s baptism. It was beautiful. It was lovely. It was perfect. Some people chose not to come, which bothered me – a lot. But now here we are a month later, and I feel like I can leave it at that.
Next –
We took a weekend trip to San Francisco. Five days, actually. A looong weekend. It was luxurious. We stayed at a prime hotel in the heart of the beautiful city. The linens were white and clean, if you know what I mean. There was shopping in the big city – not usually my style, but surprisingly fun for the few days that I indulged. Wyatt was at a business conference most of the days, but it was a great relaxing trip.
After that –
The great sickness of 2013 took place. Olivia, Calvin, Everett, Andrew – all had been sick with strep throat over the previous month. This time Wyatt and I got it THE SAME WEEKEND. Lois took the kids (thank you!) and we slept. I went to bed at seven on Friday night, and other than getting the kids some dinner when they returned on Saturday evening, did not get out of bed again until late Sunday afternoon.
It was the worst.
Ya know?
AND THEN THE GREAT planned/unplanned trip of the year –
Last summer we planned to spend my birthday/Thanksgiving in a great trip to visit my family in St. George/Swing on to Disneyland.
Then later in the summer we decided we’d better hold off – you know . . . $.
But then in October I decided no, we really needed to go to Disneyland. I mean, Everett and Roo are at that perfect age where they just LOVE everything Disney. And Calvin and Olivia still have that childlike ability to be REALLY excited for things. So we decided to go.
We spent a couple days in St. George before driving down to California where we spent three days at Disneyland, then came back to St. George for the Thanksgiving festivities.
It was a fun trip. Huzzah!
AND SMASHED IN BETWEEN all that –
Olivia had her rock and roll recital. She performed “What makes you beautiful” by One Direction (my kids are obsessed. Why? Where do they get this stuff?)
And I finished up my ginormous fall project of being in charge (and the only volunteer anyway) of Reflections up at the school. We had 245 entries, up from just 70 last year. It was awesome, but a TON of work.
AND THAT was November at the Christensen house.
What a BUSY but wonderful month! I love San Francisco, sounds like you had a splendid time. Pics — and Disneyland – FUN – Fun!!!
Love you!
