Monday Roo was sick, so we layed low until baseball/tee ball that night.
Tuesday we went to Art in the Park. That night we went over to the Engh’s to enjoy night games until way past bedtime.
Wednesday we drove over Gaurdsman Pass with Ashley and her little lovelies. The kids hiked into the forest and found an awesome tree fort built right there on the side of the mountain! We got ice cream cones in Park City before heading home for more baseball/t-ball.
Thursday we had Oaklee come over for the day! So much fun to play with cousins.
Friday Calvin had a birthday party, and Emmett, Mason, Anna and Brighton came over to play. We turned on the sprinkler under the trampoline and the kids ate about a billion popsicles in the first 100 degree heat of summer.
Later that afternoon we packed up and went to Silver Lake in American Fork canyon for an evening of fishing and puttering around in the canoes.
That night we had a camp-out at Grandma Lois’s house. She was gone out of town, but we made ourselves at home building a campfire in the backyard and cooking s’mores and jumping on the trampoline.
Saturday Wyatt went stream fishing with Lance. When he got back we packed up and went to Oakley.
We caught a frog in the river. It KILLS me that I didn’t have my camera to take pictures of the kids as they caught the frog, then he’d get away, then they’d scream at the top of their lungs (all four of them) and chase it down and catch it again, and the whole process would start all over again. It was SO MUCH FUN!!!
We went on a top-secret-errand that won’t be revealed until later this summer (hopefully!), we came home in the nick of time for church (good, since Wyatt was conducting!) and then later we invited the Smiths and Enghs down to eat ice cream and pick fresh peas from the garden (well, that activity was more incidental) and talk about nothing-important-at-all while the kids jumped and swung and generally had a wild time of it.
Monday was more errands and baseball/tball.
Tuesday we had Art in the Park, and this week I was in charge of it . . . I had the kids make patriotic wind socks 😀
That afternoon we went up to Blackhawk campground in Payson canyon. I went camping there a number of times growing up – we would take our horses up every summer and ride through the mountains for a weekend. My sister Beez decided to recreate that for all of us and hauled her horses all the way from St. George!
We also swam in Payson lake, which is the nicest lake swimming I’ve ever found.
We had a campout dinner and the kids went on explores before it started to get dark and we packed up to come home.
MORE TO COME ON THE GOINGS ON OF A CHRISTENSEN SUMMER. . .
Such a fun summer!!!!
Hey, you didn’t even mention the part where their favorite Auntie came to play!
