You have taken residence in the Christensen home, and the Christensen children are much enamored.
They love to build blanket forts.
Some are grand in scale and concept.
Some are tiny and tidy.
They are built in the bedroom . . .
in the living room . . .
and occasionally in the kitchen.
But mostly they reside in the basement, where there are many blankets, and many props to build the blanket fort of one’s dreams.
My children LOVE to build blanket forts.
But they’re not so fond of cleaning them up.
We have rules you know: YOU CANNOT BUILD A BLANKET FORT WITHOUT ASKING FIRST.
This was brought about by experience, as they began to take over our home.
And while I am not opposed to building, creativity, and forts in general . . .
I am a mother now, and am responsible for having the house presentable . . .
at least some of the time.
Not that that stops them.
Oh no, blanket forts are still a daily part of our life and routine.
And really, we wouldn’t have it any other way.
That is so much fun! I loved to build forts as a kid and I love doing those same thing with mine now. LOVE IT!
