The day after Thanksgiving was my birthday this year. First thing that happened when I woke up was Calvin brought me a bowl of cereal for breakfast in bed. He’s always a thoughtful one, that little Cal. And then the kids gave me some sweet home made cards.
Wyatt asked what I wanted to do for my birthday. I told him I wanted to decorate for Christmas!
Now decorating for Christmas is serious business around here. Unfortunately I am much to intense to really accept (allow) much help. So decorating is pretty much a one woman show.
I brought up the tree and started setting it up only to find the entire bottom section of lights didn’t work. Long story short, I unlighted the bottom section, went to Home Depot and bought more lights, relighted it, finished putting the tree together, and had the lights at the bottom blow out. I unlighted it again, took them back to HD, went to Walmart and bought more lights, relit the tree again, had them blow, changed some fuses (did that to the HD lights too, but it didn’t fix those ones) which fixed them and then rearranged how they connect to the outlet.
Problem solved.
That took me all day.
So, the tree didn’t get decorated on Friday.
That evening we went to Highland for my birthday dinner (although, let’s be honest, I think it was more about Lois getting everyone together since everyone was at in-laws for Thanksgiving, than it was about my birthday (I only say that because this is the first birthday dinner we’ve had/celebrated since last spring)). That evening Wyatt took me to go see Red Dawn.
It was a nice day, relaxing and fun.
The next day I finally was able to get the house and tree decorated.
Christmas, here we come!
Happy Late Birthday Andrea! Sorry we weren’t there for Lois’ get together….. er’….. I mean your Birthday Dinner. We miss you guys!
lol! Thanks Katie! Are you coming for Christmas?
