I am in the depths of despair. It’s January, it’s bound to happen.
I have also been married to Wyatt Christensen for going on ten years. And so I make lists – I’ve learned from the best 😀
The results of above states of being:
A LIST OF THINGS I LOOK FORWARD TO ONCE THE *!$^DERNED WEATHER IMPROVES
- Planting my sunflower garden
- Roto-tilling the space between my fence and the canal, and planting a pumpkin/gourd patch
- Growing funny shaped gourds that I can then dry and carve next winter.
- Walks to the Shaw Shack
- Laying on a blanket in the sunshine and chatting the afternoon away with someone (do you want to come over?)
- Reading (okay, I could do that now, but it’s not the same).
- Walks to the Shaw Shack, and asking Kellie if we can walk slower.
- Going to lunch with the ladies
- Putting Kerr Lanterns in the tree
- Shaw Shacks under the tree
- Teaching Calvin to ride a bike
- riding my bike
- going on bike rides with Calvin and Olivia riding their own bikes
- Feeding the geese at Wheeler Farm
- Grass between my toes
- Summer Glass Stars
- Summer Real Stars
- Sleeping out
- Sitting on the porch
- Writing Letters (who needs a pen pal?)
- Throwing the ball for Ella
- Making Paper
- Making books
- Going to the Library
- Camping
- Going to the Rodeo
- Eating at the Diner – even if it’s not great food anymore, it’s still has great atmosphere
- Planting flowers in the front yard
- Writing a Great American Novel (sure, why not?)
- Breathing in every minute of Olivia pre-school-age.
Lots and lots more. Mmm. I’m loving it already.
Come, come, summer, come, come.
Me too!!! I hate January – it is the worst month ever. I can’t wait to do all the FUN things summer brings. Thanks for making me long for it even more 😉
I am with you on that! To combat my winter blahs today we invited some friends over for a picnic on our dining room floor. We decorated the room with paper flowers, bees and butterflies and sat on blankets eating PBJ, Chips and Capri Sun. I thought of getting a CD from the library with bird sounds but I didn’t get around to that…
Good job Melinda! That is serious commitment. I think that sounds like a wonderful way to spend an afternoon.
