After church we headed up to the cabin – me, Nate and Roo. Everett had a work thing he couldn’t miss, and Wyatt decided not to come. But it was a long weekend, with no school on Monday, so I took the boys up for an evening and sleepover at the cabin. We had a lot of fun.
Olivia and her new beau, Bo (or Bo Duke as I always call him) came up and met us there. We hiked up to the lake. Roo and Nate decided to jump in. Kids caught frogs. We hiked around the lake. We hiked out the swing and played on that for a while. Then we went back to the cabin and played games and ate dinner (chili and Fritos, yum) and watched movies (Double Header: The Mighty Ducks and The Three Musketeers). We went out and looked at the stars. Olivia and Bo left after The Mighty Ducks. We fell asleep in the cool coziness of the cabin. In the morning everything was wet and rainy. We snuggled for a while, but the kids wanted to get home to play with friends, so we packed up. We went to breakfast at the diner. It was as we were pulling in that Roo told me – “We were here exactly one year ago.”
We were? I didn’t remember. But he did. He even pulled up the pictures to show me. Apparently last year we did the exact same thing on the exact same weekend – the three of us went up to the cabin for a sleepover and then went to breakfast at the diner. I told the boys it was now our new tradition! YAY!
