We had Calvin’s friend birthday party the Tuesday before his actual birthday (Thursday). For the party we made and launched water rockets. It was a ton of fun and went really well I think. First we had the kids make their rockets and tape on the fins. Then we spray painted them (yes, we let the kids spray paint them themselves, very brave on my part, but it went really well, the kids did a great job.) Then we decorated them with markers and foam stickers. Then we launched them using two different launchers I made earlier in the week. It really was such a fun activity. It felt very overwhelming at first, but once I actually did it I found out – IT’S SO EASY! Here are the instructions for the launcher that I made, and the instructions for the rockets are here. The kids had a great time I think. And Everett has been making rockets constantly out of every bottle he can find ever since.
