It’s my first birfsday today. Mommy and Daddy were so excited and wanted to celebrate with some exciting activities.
Granddad Christensen gave me my very first birthday present, a deposit into my college fund. He says it will earn something called compound interest, and when I’m old enough it will be helpful in the things that are important in life.
Then I went horseback riding with my aunties, Leslee & Carrie. It was my first time riding a horse. I rode Auntie Leslee’s horse, SLY. He sure was sweet . . . like an overgrown Great Dane! (And I thought my doggies were big!)
After that we went out to breakfast at One Man Band Diner – my first time eating there! I shared Mommy’s hash browns & Daddy’s French Toast. And I opened some of my presents from Grandma & Grandpa Brock & my aunts & uncles. I got the most darling sweater from Grandma & a fun Whinnie the Pooh crib toy from Grandpa that I can’t wait to try out as soon as I move into our new house and am sleeping in my own crib again! (Mommy can’t wait for that either!)
Then we went shopping for a few things for my first birthday. Mommy & Daddy got me a few gifts, but I wasn’t allowed to see them until it was time to open presents.
Then we came home and made me cupcakes. It was my first time making cupcakes (and mommy’s too). I wanted them to be chocolate, since I LOVE chocolate, and I chose a rainbow chip frosting with sprinkles and flower candies on top. It was lots of fun to help decorate the cupcakes.
But then came the very best part. Mommy and Daddy lit a candle and sang happy birthday to me!! Then they gave me the cupcake (sans candle of course) and let me eat it to my hearts pleasure. Everyone just stood around and oohed and ahhed as I devoured my treat. It was sure yummy. At first I tried to be like mommy and be dainty and neat as I ate, but then I decided it was more fun to be like daddy and just make a big mess!
You can see pictures of my birthday by going to my scrapbook. I hope you like them. It sure was fun!
