Carrie and Ben came up from St. George to hang out with us for the 4th of July weekend! We started the morning by going to the Granite parade. The kids decorated their bikes and rode them in the parade.
The parade was a ton of fun, and this year, the candy was better than it’s been in years 😀
After that we went home for some lunch and a lazy afternoon.
We had our annual Christensen family water-fight! Olivia and Calvin thought they were soooo hardcore because they were soaking their mom and dad. And Everett had a ton of fun too until he stepped on and got stung by a bee 🙁 Poor Ejo. Luckily it felt better after about 20 minutes of cuddles on the porch from Mamma. Roo just enjoyed making mud.
That evening the Engh’s, Sorensen’s, and missionaries came over for a barbeque. I totally forgot to take pictures of the BBQ – too busy getting food out and helping kids. It was a real feast though: Carne Asada tacos, homemade pico de gallo, watermelon, grilled fresh pineapple, corn on the cob (street style), macaroni salad, green salad, and fruit pizza. And for desert homemade peach-raspberry ice cream in hand-dipped festive cones.
After dinner and chatting, we all walked over the Engh’s for street fireworks. Normally it’s where most of the neighborhood congregates for fireworks, but this year it was just us.
It was a successful 4th of July!
HURRAY FOR OUR INDEPENDENCE AND FREEDOM!
