Labor Day weekend was a blast.
Friday’s are early out days so we took advantage of the afternoon by going to the pool for one last summer huzzah. Of course, I didn’t take my camera. But you can imagine – same kids, same swimsuits, same pool, same great time.
That evening we went to Auntie Leslee’s house for pizza and movies and games. A good time!
Saturday morning we left bright and early for the cabin. We invited peeps, but most people don’t seem too interested in coming. Their loss. But Harry and Lois and Carrie and Ben did come up. We went four wheeling and fishing and frog catching (Calvin caught the biggest frog we’ve seen yet!) and hiking. It was a lot of fun.
That night we went down to Heber to meet up with our friends, the Ferguson’s, for some KFC in the park. That night we all went back up to the cabin to watch a movie.
Sunday night we went up to the Spruces at the top of Big Cottonwood canyon for tinfoil dinners and S’Mores with the Engh’s. We haven’t played with the Engh’s all summer, so it was fun to get to spend some time with them!
On Monday we went to the cabin again, and this time the Engh’s came up. We did more of the same. The kids LOVED having their friends come up to play.
On the way up we stopped in Peoa, where we learned the day before in Sunday school that there’s this grave:
There’s all sorts of legends and lore about this.
That night we went to the Polar King for burgers and shakes, before heading home in the last golden evening of Americana summer.
