Olivia:
She lost ANOTHER tooth this week – late on Wednesday. The tooth fairy has been to our house so much in the past several months. She is so proud of how she’s growing big. And I love her confidence.
She is also such a care taker. I love that about her. I hope she will be able to find that balance between her compassion and others tendency to take advantage of such souls.
She is a swimmer. She swims with grace and confidence. She has passed the dog-paddle-struggle swim and really can set out across the pool in calm reassured strokes.
She thinks she’s so funny – she loves to tease me and Wyatt for being in love. She loves to hug baby Nathaniel and tell everyone how excited she is for her baby brother to come.
Calvin:
Calvin loves his Daddy. He wants to be just like him. That’s the reason for his obsession with the Presidents and politics. That’s why he wants to wear business clothes every day. That’s why he has TWO desks set up in his room for an office. And the day will come (as it comes for all generations) when he will find his daddy out-dated and sometimes ridiculous, so I love this stage now when Wyatt can do no wrong.
He also is finding his own self. He is finding confidence in his body and what it can do. He is also finding his talents. I think he is starting to recognize himself as an artist.
I love that he loves to talk.
Everett:
I always think of Everett as a super-saturated sponge . . . give him one little squish and emotions will come spilling out without regard. This is true of both joy and sadness. He loves attention. When I am on the floor playing with him or doing anything with him, he is my instant best friend. When he feels overwhelmed by being littler than those around, he will push buttons to try an establish importance. His heart is so big.
And I LOVE LOVE LOVE his smile. Every time he smiles for a picture, it makes me want to gasp with the happiness of it!
Roo:
No matter how much I beg, he will not leave those rollie-pollie’s alone. Every chance he gets, every time I turn around, he’s out in the garden pulling up rocks or branches, or just plain old digging, looking for the little bugs. And then he carries them – by the handful, around for the day. I will tell him to put them down before he comes inside. And every time he asks why. And I have to explain again that we don’t bring bugs into the house. But still I find them – corpses in easter eggs, and the lego box, and his pockets. He loves those bugs. And I don’t really mind.
He is such a tease. He listens to his brothers (mostly Everett) and repeats their jokes, their tantrums, and their attitudes, trying to garner a reaction. He thinks he’s so funny. And why wouldn’t he? Of course he is!
It is so much fun reading about them! I am SO proud of you and Wyatt for being such great parents! Especially how you’re giving them a solid base in the doctrines of the gospel…that will serve them well throughout their lives and your posterity through generations.
God bless you this week as you add your fifth to your family!
I love you all so much!
Dad
