Our Christmas season was a bit more subdued this year. The parties were minimal, the quiet evenings long. There was just the right mix of traditions and festivities and quiet reflection. It may have been my favorite Christmas ever. //embedr.flickr.com/assets/client-code.js
Of course, we did have our annual visit to the Windows at the Grand America Hotel. It is one of our favorite traditions. We go every year with the Engh family to see the creative and fun festive windows. So fun!
Also, we continued a newer tradition that we just started last year. That is making gingerbread houses AND staying up really really late (I was told by Kate we couldn’t leave until midnight, it was only fair!) with the Stewarts. Our kids love this tradition, and I love the chance to catch up with Brynn, who is my bestie who married my hubbie’s bestie. So family activities always work out really well.
Of course there were also ward parties and family parties. I love getting to spend time with the people I love in a cheerful and festive environment. It’s great to see everyone.
Also, we had our traditional Christmas Eve dinner. This year we invited Harry and Lois to come to our feast. It is a fun tradition and our one “fancy” dinner a year. I always look forward to it.
